Overview
I will be leading a cross country cycling trip from Virginia Beach, VA to Canon Beach, OR over 2 months, starting May 19th this summer. It is thru the non-profit organization, Bike & Build. The goal is spread awareness and raise money for affordable housing across America, involving and empowering youth 18-28 year olds. We will do this as I and the 30 other people on the trip bike thru the towns we pass in America. Though press releases, media, and the presence of 30 bikers all wearing the same jersey,we spread awareness about the affordable housing crisis in the US. We stop 9 times throughout the summer and build with different affordable housing organizations. Each person participating on the trip is required to raise money before the trip and the majority of this money goes directly to affordable housing orgainzations we see along the way, to designated affordable housing organizations that apply for grants thru Bike & Build, and to the Charlottesville Habitat for Humanity.
