Overview

The "Nebula" Theater Project
Have you ever noticed that the same children get chosen over and over again.  This means that some children get overlooked over and over.  If your child is average she is rarely picked.  My Nebula project will allow average children to shine bright.  I want to start a Childrens' Theater where every child will get a chance at the starring role, not just the best and brightest child, but EVERY child.  While children are young, they should all be seen as having great potential and be given a chance to improve.  All too often the best child gets the best opportunities and gets better leaving the average child at a disadvantage and a cycle begins.  My Nebula theater project would be started in a local elementary school.  Theater is a wonderful way to build self-esteem, as well as speaking skills.  It could be especially helpful in my community where many children speak English as a second language.

How will the 5K be Used?

Budget Notes: We will not need to cover a stage, chairs, lights, building because school has these things. The consultant fee will be needed only for the first play to teach me about production of a play. I plan to try get a drama teacher from nearby high school or a person from the Art center or community.
